Our Story
After returning from Germany in the early 1980s, Shamima Khan dedicated herself to voluntary service through Inner Wheel and Maitree Club, leading countless philanthropic initiatives for the poor, distressed, and victims of violence against women. Her heart bled for the suffering in Jamalpur—where poverty, child marriage, floods, and trafficking tore through lives. From launching a polio vaccination center in 1992 to founding Taranga Mohila Kallyan Sangstha (TMKS) in 1996, she transformed compassion into action, building a women-led movement that empowers, protects, and uplifts communities with dignity and hope.
